Contemporary Services Corporation is the
world's largest company specializing in events and entertainment services.
Established 33 years ago, CSC pioneered peer-group security for the music industry and then leveraged its expertise to offer a full spectrum of crowd management services for facilities and events. With 22 offices nationwide, CSC provides crowd management services for major events such as the Rose Bowl, Rolling Stones concerts, the Academy Awards, the American Music Awards, and almost every other major event in the United States.
Recently, CSC selected Circa(tm) Information Technologies to develop a Time and Attendance system to help track CSC personnel at Superbowl
XXXIII. Keith Gurian, CSC's Information Technology Manager, explains, "Circa's aggressive implementation timeline and experience were key factors in our choice of Circa for the
project. We evaluated other solutions, but felt that the recommendation from Intermec [data collection hardware manufacturer] to select Circa was right for us."
"Circa's batch and radio frequency capabilities allowed CSC to track the work hours of more than 2,900 Superbowl staff members.
Our success with Circa's Time & Attendance system was largely due to the detailed specs Circa provided in the planning stage, as well as the exceptional lines of communication with Circa's staff throughout the project.
Before Circa, CSC used a manual sign-in process which was "time-consuming and error-ridden," according to Keith Gurian. "With
Circa, CSC realized cost and time savings in addition to eliminating keypunch error and providing CSC with detailed reports for client billing."
